Starting on January 1, 2011, Welland Hydro Electric System Corp. will be transitioning all customers who are currently billed bi-monthly to monthly billing. Providing 12 smaller bills instead of 6 larger ones will make it easier for customers, to manage their monthly expenses. We are making this change as a result of many customer requests. This change will also significantly benefit our customers as we approach time of use (TOU) rates which are expected to come into effect in the fall of 2011. Rest assured that as we approach TOU rates, we will provide you with information and strategies that will help you adjust to the new rate structure as well as assist you in managing your energy costs.
THE BENEFITS OF MONTHLY BILLING:
Meter readings will now be completed monthly to ensure the accuracy of your bill. Your due date will continue to be 16 days from your bill date. All pre-authorized and equal billing accounts will be transitioned to a monthly billing schedule. Please note that customers not billed in December 2010 will receive their last bi-monthly bill in January 2011. All bills issued in February will be monthly bills based on readings from your smart meter.
